This team is assigned for the purpose of evangelism. Their job is to plan, promote, and oversee all of the church’s bridge events, seeker groups, evangelism training (including Class 401), evangelic activities, programs and mission projects. They are to organize whatever it takes to reach our community and our world for Christ. Our goal is 25% of our members to do some kind of mission project each year. We will send members and youth on mission projects nationally and internationally.
HEARING IMPAIRED MINISTRY
“How are they to call on one in whom they have not believed, and how are they to believe in one of whom they have never heard, and how are they to hear without someone to proclaim him.” Romans 10:4
The hearing impaired ministry is committed to serving the deaf as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ with them through the preached word as well as the gospel through song. We are desirous of people to join our ministry who know how to sign or are willing to learn how to sign. Come join us to serve.
EDUCATIONAL CARE MINISTRY

Our educational care ministry is dedicated to working with the two schools in our area that we have adopted. West Mecklenburg High School and Wilson Middle School are our school sites. We are happy to partner with them to offer tutoring services, monitoring of test services as well as mentoring as we have the opportunity. It takes a big heart to work with these students and to give them the love and attention they need. LOCAL MISSIONS MINISTRY

The Local Missions Ministry carries the good news of Jesus Christ to surrounding neighborhoods, encouraging people to become part of the body / family of Christ.
What joy to see someone come to Christ after having introduced him/her to the Savior. All believers are to be evangelists for Jesus Christ. We are to be fishers for souls by telling of Jesus’ sacrifice of love.
LOAVES & FISHES MINISTRY
“For I was hungry and you gave me food/meat, thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in, naked and you clothed me.” Matthew 25:35
The Loaves & Fishes Ministry is to be a supplier of food and other goods to those who are hungry and without food to eat.
Loaves & Fishes Ministry is a wonderful and rewarding ministry. It allows us to put in action that which Jesus required most from his servants and disciples.
The Jail Ministry shares the love and forgiveness of God with those who are incarcerated for a time. To bring the good news of Jesus to those who cannot attend churches because of restrictions.
All people make mistakes and do wrong actions at one time or another. Some are more egregious than others and so require incarceration. It is our mission to let our incarcerated brothers and sisters know that God still loves them and wants to forgive them after their repentance.
The RAIN Ministry is to demonstrate the love of Christ with compassion and sensitivity while reaching up and out to our brothers and sisters whose lives have been impacted by the HIV/AIDS virus.
The “Regional AIDS Interfaith Network” serves eleven counties. It is a ministry which enables small groups of volunteers, working in congregational based Care Teams to live out their faith in service to persons living with HIV/AIDS syndrome. RAIN’s mission is to develop and inform compassionate response which begins in churches and synagogues and spreads into the community; while also developing and implementing HIV/AIDS prevention and educational programs.

INTERNATIONAL E/MO MINISTRY

The International E/MO Ministry is to bring relief and support to those in third world countries who are suffering from disease and lack. To encourage and pray for churches and missionaries serving in foreign countries.

MISSIONARY GROUP 2
This ministry is a small group focused on serving others. Missionary Group 2 believes that Christ has called and equipped us to minister to the needs of people within and beyond our congregation.
Our activities include:
- Participating in leadership training and Bible study
- Holding monthly meetings every 2nd Sunday
- Assisting the sick and shut-in
- Placing snacks in area hospital waiting rooms
- Supporting Mt. Carmel’s Loaves and Fishes program
- Contributing to the Room in the Inn Ministry
- Providing fellowship with group social events
MISSIONARY GROUP 3
Missionary Group 3’s mission is to offer spiritual, emotional and physical support to those in need. We are committed to devoting time of ourselves by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, lending a helping hand to those in need and speaking words of encouragement to enlighten souls. Services are extended to those in the community, as well as the church family. We meet on the 2nd Sunday of each month immediately after the 10:45am worship celebration.
Our activities include:
- Adopting a family from DSS
- Visiting Nursing Homes
- Supporting House of Mercy & Battered Women Shelter
- Empowering our youth for success
MISSIONARY GROUP 4
Mission Group 4’s is a small group with a BIG HEART determined to do our part in carrying out MCBC Vision: “Celebrating Christ to Reach, Teach and Equip people for the Service of God.” Meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Sunday immediately after 10:45am worship.
Our activities include (but not limited to):
- Visiting Nursing Homes & sick and shut-in
- Participating in annual Coat Drive & Trunk or Treat
- Assisting families during the holiday season and throughout the year
- Assisting the homeless
- Participating in walk-a-thons for cancer research
MISSIONARY GROUP 5 / 6
We are women of God called together to serve in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, motivated by the Holy Spirit to proclaim God’s will to love one another, to reach out, and to be a beacon in improving the quality of life for others by caring, sharing, and giving best of our service through community outreach.
Our activities include:

NURSING HOME MINISTRY

The Nursing Home Ministry is to minister the love and gospel of Jesus Christ to those who are infirmed and elderly care centers. The elderly are an excellent resource of wisdom and knowledge. They have given much to our society. It is a small thing for us to give back to them in a spiritual and uplifting way.

“Exodus Foundation.org is a ministry of Mount Carmel as well as a community wide, and national ministry. The mission is to stop the flow of African-Americans to prison. The Red Sea Mentoring and Scholarship Program matches trained mentors with people coming home from prison. Both mentor and mentee make a one year commitment to achieve written goals.”Without community support, 70% will return to prison in 3-5 years. Matthew 25 is the litmus test for what it means to serve Christ. Among other things it states “I was in prison and you visited me.” An invisible cage called the “New Jim Crow” continues upon release.

This team is assigned for the purpose of worship. Their job is to plan and oversee our weekend service, special worship emphasis and events, and to provide music and worship resources to the rest of the church.

The Usher Ministry is visible representation of welcome and helpfulness before, during, and after church. The usher ministry is ever ready to assist with the needs of the worshippers. Ushers serve with warmth, attentiveness, and helpfulness. They help facilitate movement of the worshippers maintaining order with friendliness, patience and helpfulness. Ushers help to welcome all to worship in Christ’s love.

Greeter’s offer a warm smile and shared handshake to members and visitors that come to Mount Carmel. The Greeter’s Ministry lets those that come through the doors of Mount Carmel know God is very much a presence at Mount Carmel and we are glad that they are here today. It is sharing the warmth, being personable, positive, and giving a real greeting that starts the beginning of the worship experience and continues until the end of the worship celebration.

LITURGICAL DANCE MINISTRY
We are a group of people who have faithfully and lovingly been spreading the good Word of our Lord and Savior through a means of communication called DANCE.
We have ministered using dance as our means of communication on site, off site, in the form of movement and in the form of instruction. We have ministered as a group, solely, and also in collaboration with others.
On site ministry is 2nd Sunday’s at 8:00am and 10:45am Worship Celebrations.

SIGHT & SOUND MINISTRY
Sight and Sound Ministry works to provide quality sound and visuals during the Worship Celebration. They work to provide the tapes and CDs for the community to further enjoy the worship experience. Sight and Sound Ministry address the media needs so that the Worship experience is heard and seen at its best. Meet – 2nd Wednesday at 6:45pm – 7:00pm.
Drama is an expression of our relationship with God to portray life, characters, or tell a story involving conflict and emotions through dialogue designed for theatrical performance.
CULTURAL ARTS MINISTRY
The Cultural Arts Ministry is designed to focus on the culture, history, and spiritual journey of African-Americans. It is the responsibility of this ministry to help educate and inform our community of the legacy and spiritual journey of our ancestors.
This team is assigned for the purpose of discipleship. Their goal is to lead our members to a deeper spiritual commitment and help develop to spiritual maturity. SUNDAY SCHOOL MINISTRY
“We have a very active Sunday School Ministry here at Mount Carmel. ” It offers a variety of classes for children as well as adults.The children and youth classes are arranged by age and grade. The adult classes are a combination of male and female as well as exclusively male and female classes. Our teaching staff consists of a very dedicated group of individuals. They understand the importance of commitment and sacrifice in relationship to their responsibility as spiritual leaders. To equip our teachers, we have a training team that provides comprehensive inspirational training sessions. We work with the concept of team teaching. Most of our classes for children and youth have at least two teachers assigned and they are able to rotate teaching responsibilities. We have approximately 40 teachers in our Sunday School Ministry. The leadership team consists of a superintendent office staff. nbsp;We have a small pool of substitute teachers, teacher assistants and support staff.

DR. LEON C. RIDDICK SCHOLARSHIP
Each year this scholarship awards numerous college scholarships to young people attending Historical African American Colleges. Applications can be attained by contacting the church office. Scholarships are awarded in the fall.
Scouting promises boys ages six years (who have completed kindergarten) to age eighteen years, opportunities to help other people, serve God and country, friendship, great outdoor adventures, tools and duties that will help you mature into a strong wise and caring adult. The Scout Oath and Scout Law can guide you while you are a Scout and throughout your life. MCBC Apache # 356 Boy Scouts meet the 1st Saturday of each month (10am – 2:00pm) and on 2nd & 3rd Tuesday nights (6:30pm – 7:45pm) after 1st Saturday.

Girl Scouts of the USA is the world’s preeminent organization dedicated solely to girls – all girls where, in an accepting and nurturing environment girls build character and skills for success in the real world. . The Girls Scout Program can change the way girls see the world and their place in it. Girls learn the importance of personal responsibility, the value of goal-setting, the spirit of teamwork, and the thrill of accomplishment.
The Youth Ministry at Mount Carmel Baptist Church is an age specific (6th grade – 12th grade) religious ministry that engages the young people of the church. Our Youth Ministry encourages young people who profess a faith to learn more about God and become more involved in spiritual life. The Ministry’s focus is to help our youth grow spiritually through a variety of activities such as Youth Lock-Ins, Youth Church, Youth Conferences/Retreats, and Missions / Community Service Projects, just to name a few. Youth Leaders volunteer their time and talent to ensure that youth get a well-rounded program.

We believe that children are important to God Our goal is to expose children to biblical principles and the biblical story providing them a foundation to begin to build their lives. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL MINISTRY:
Vacation Bible School is an annual event held to reach, teach and equip people for the service of God. It usually has a theme that presents Christ in a fun-filled way. There are games, songs and lessons that instill Christian values. We are really excited about VBS and hope that ALL will find a way to participate.
This team is assigned for the purpose of connection. They oversee all support; care groups in homes (small group ministry) and help support members and families.
ANDREW FELLOWSHIP MINISTRY
The goal of the Andrew Fellowship ministry is to first and foremost lead individuals joining our Church family to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior through the plan of salvation.
This Ministry also serves the Mount Carmel new members by being in prayer partner, first friend, and provides guidance into full participation of our church fellowship.
Meetings are held monthly on 1st Saturday at 9:30am in room #243.
SISTER’S OF FAITH MINISTRY
Sister’s of Faith Ministry’s vision is to connect women across generations to worship, share and serve! We seek to grow and be spiritually transformed into the image of Christ and to reflect that image as we serve others through mission/outreach,encouraging and serving with and for one another.’Our goal is to connect the women of Mount Carmel across generations for mutual support, mentoring, and Bible study. This ministry supports mission/outreach through monthly visits to Crisis Assistance Ministry and collecting toiletries to donate to the Women’s Shelter in addition to participating in church-wide mission projects.
We Worship through Scripture, song and prayer, Share through our Bible study time, then Serve through planning our ministry and mission events.
We have an annual Women’s Conference or Retreat to bring the women of the church together for an awesome gathering of sisters for worship, spiritual growth, and fellowship. Our meetings are held every 2nd Saturday of the month @ 10am in Room 240.
Our Senior Ministry is designed to help connect seniors through faith and activities of fellowship. In this ministry seniors are encouraged to help support, care and pray with one another.
Our meetings are held every 4th Thursday of the month in Room 236.
The Men’s Ministry is designed to address the particular needs and issues that men face. Each man is encouraged to grow in his knowledge of Christ as Lord and Savior. Each man is encouraged to participate in the spirit and peace of God. Each man is exposed to the various seasons of a man’s life. Each man is challenged to foster relations of support and encouragement with one another.
The Men’s Ministry Breakfast and Fellowship is held on the 4th Saturday of the month from 8:30am-10am.
MARRIED COUPLES MINISTRY
Mount Carmel Baptist Church Couple’s Ministry encourages and supports couples at the stage of their initial commitment to marry, and at every stage of their marriage, in seeking to exercise the promises and expectations of God’s covenant love in marriage. Couples seek to grow spiritually in becoming a greater reflection of God’s love.
MCBC Couple’s Ministry supports spiritual growth, prayer and biblical study through the Covenant Marriage class held on Sunday Mornings at 9:30am, which also has a practical application for couples as well as couple prayer partners. As part of the MCBM Couples’ Ministry, couples participate in fellowship/connection events such as bowling, picnics, dinners, and an annual Holiday Gala, as well as ministry outreach and educational seminars.
This team is assigned for the purpose of Ministry. This team is responsible to help equip all service ministries. The goal of the team is for members to find a meaningful place for service.

TUCKASEEGEE TRADERS MINISTRY
Tuckaseegee Traders Investment Ministry is a progressive ministry committed to lifting the believer in an area of finance. This will be accomplished by learning about selecting and investing stocks. Tuckaseegee Traders meet every 3rd Saturday from 10:00am until 12:00pm. It is our mission to educate Mount Carmel members about the various financial and investment products which can help them reach their financial goals.
Nurses’ Ministry is to provide health support, resources and education to the church family. When health concerns arise in the context of our church community the health ministry is available for support and council.
The Security Ministry exists to serve God by helping to create a safe and meaningful environment that reflects the excellence of God. This ministry seeks to maintain a negative free environment for seekers and believers to worship.
Prayer Ministry provides prayer support and encouragement for the church body in the context of the biblical community, helping members to become like Christ in order to glorify God. The Prayer Ministry scriptural focus comes from the gospel of Mark 11:17 where Jesus says, “…My house will be called a House of Prayer for all Nations…”
First Saturday of each month Pastor calls the church community to come together for community prayer at 8:00am.
The 2nd,3rd, and 5th Saturday meetings are from 7:00am – 9:00am in Room # 267
Sunday Corporate Prayer takes place before each of the two morning worship services in Room 267. 7:45-7:55am before the 8am worship serve and 10:30-10:40am worship service.
The Bereavement Ministry provides prayer and ministry support for families going through a season of bereavement. This ministry also helps provide a meal of fellowship for families following the home going service of a loved one.
GOD’S PROPERTY EXERCISE MINISTRY
This ministry is designed to put Christian principles into practice through mind, body, and spirit. We affirm that the body is the temple of God and thus should be cared for properly. Join them for the exercise class of your choice.

GOOD SENSE FINANCIAL MINISTRY
Good Sense Financial Ministry is a progressive ministry committed to lifting the believer in an area of finance. This will be accomplished by offering in-depth workshops and seminars relating to their financial needs. It is our mission to educate Mount Carmel members about the various financial and investment products, which can help them, reach their financial goals.
The purpose of the Sports Ministry is to bring men, women, boys and girls to exhibit sports ability that benefits the physical body, teaches good sportsmanship and Godly conduct, while also encouraging mission work to those in need.
Every believer’s body is the temple of the Lord, housing the Holy Spirit. It is good to care for the body through physical activity.
The Administration team serves to carry out the MCBC vision to Reach, Teach, and Equip members through the coordination of resources, volunteers and communication.
The Trustee Ministry assists the Pastor in the serving of the Church family. Trustees assist in the maintenance of Godly stewardship of the assets and the church campus.
CONGREGATIONAL CARE/DEACON MINISTRY INFORMATION
The Deacon’s Ministry assists the Pastor in serving the Church Membership family. Deacons are called upon to help minister to the needs of the least among us.
The Beautification Ministry is responsible for helping create a Godly environment through the care of plants and accessories.
The Transportation Ministry provides transportation for weekly worship services, special church activities and community events. The goal of the transportation ministry is to provide safe and courteous service to church family
